Athletics at Enloe High School is an important part of student development.
Participation in high school athletics can be beneficial, especially when athletic leaders create an environment that challeng
es and rewards the growth mindset.

Studies found that the most important participation takeaways that students continue to practice after graduation are:

  • a stronger sense of self-confidence in building relationships with others and having an expanded capacity for empathy

  • developing a better understanding of self and in so doing understanding how their actions affect others

  • building foundations for lifelong fitness habits

The EEABC has historically awarded a $250 scholarship to one senior female and one
senior male who represent the highest ideals of Enloe High School Athletics.
Consideration is given to the applicants who score highest on their essays highlighting their athletic success, dedication, sportsmanship and leadership, as well as academic achievement within the designated essay topic. Winners will be announced on

The Enloe Eagles Athletic Booster Club has awarded $250.00 scholarships to Elliott Howes and Lauren Ferlito.

Elliot, a Men's Soccer player, will be attending American University this fall. In his essay, Elliot commented, "To be an Enloe Eagle is much more than simply aiming to be a good student in the classroom. While that is a big focus, it is just as much about following your passions, exploring your interests, and striving to be the overall best person you can be." Elliot will be attending American University this fall.

Lauren, a Women's Soccer player, said, "From Flight School to my senior year, it is hard to believe how much I have matured as a student and as a person. Being an Enloe Eagle has prepared me for my next journey, as I will graduate with character traits and organizational skills that I will carry with me for a lifetime." Lauren is attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Congratulations to both of these amazing Eagles!
